The self portrait is the window into one’s self. It shows the outside world your inside world. I have always believed that looking into the eyes always shows something of the inner self. Portraits are landscapes of the psyche of someone else. The self portrait is the psyche of the artist. It can be truthful and it can be deceiving. The artist shows only what he or she wants the viewer to see.
