Wha Paek was born in South Korea and has been an enamel artist for 35 years. She studied and majored Metal Craft and Graphic design. She received BA / Master’s degree from Hong-Ik Univ. in Seoul, Korea and was an active member of Korean Craft Association, and Korean Enamel Guild. Metal art is her passion and she would love to have the opportunity to share her works with everyone.
Recently, she has become fascinated with using copper wire mesh on transparent enamel. It’s a simple design that can tell so many stories to the viewer. Once out of the kiln, the texture that the copper wire mesh creates on the shiny enamel surface adds another dimension to the art that is so fantastic. Most of her works in some shape or form has a deep rooted underlying message that includes traces of human spirit and nature.
